Truck manufacturer MAN wants to focus more on hydrogen and electric drives in the future. As MAN announced during a visit of Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) to the Nuremberg site, the company wants to rely on battery-powered buses in public transport. For trucks, the focus would be on hydrogen instead. Already next year the first MAN hydrogen truck prototypes should be on the road.
As Markus Söder reported on Twitter, "Bavaria should become a leading location for hydrogen technology". Bavarian research institutes are working together with MAN in Nuremberg on the development of new hydrogen engines. Together they will test hydrogen for long-distance road traffic in the so-called "Bavarian Fleet".
